Power of Mabel Week- Day 4: Favorite Character Trait
Everyone else: nice happy positive things!
Me, an evil lil angst goblin: PAIN PAIN PAINokay so seriously you know what I love about Mabel but it’s literally never addressed ever?? her insecurity. her need for validation. listen. this is 100% canon and here’s why:
remember “irrational treasure”, and that one amazing Mabel angst quote of “I thought I was just being charming, but I guess everyone sees me as a big joke”. she then proceeded to spend the whole episode trying to prove she wasn’t silly because she believed that people looked down of her because of it! and in “little dipper” she feels inadequate because she’s not as analytically minded as dipper is! and in “dreamscapers” it was revealed that her greates fear was losing her cuteness, which if you notice in other episodes she often describes herself as cute and believes that this is one of the reasons people like her. and let’s not forget the entirety of “the last mabelcorn”- Mabel freaked out about the possibility of her not being nice!! Mabel prides herself on being nice and silly and charming and cute, and anytime she starts doubing herself on these qualities she goes into a spiral of anxiety and self-hate!
TL;DR: Mabel has as much self-confidence issues as the other Pines family members and deserves more recognition for it
