@estrelarabyss also asked for this one. Thanks for the ask, both of you! 🙂
First impression: this is the goofiest, sweetest cinnamon roll I’ve ever seen
Impression now: (not to be redundant but) MY DAUGHTER!
Favorite moment: It’s a tie between the moment in Sock Opera where she kicks demon ass and the moment she realizes that she’s a good person even without the validation ofCelestabellebethabelle.
Idea for a story: Mabel creates a series of short videos about all the people she loves that they find endearing, if not a little distracting with the documentary-style narration.
Unpopular opinion: I know Mabel says “I’ve found my people” when she meets Candy and Grenda, but I don’t think they’re the first close friends she’s had because of some of the information we learn in the Weirdmageddon part 2 flashbacks as well as her surprise and embarrassment when Pacifica points out some of the goofy things she does in Irrational Treasure. I think Mabel is a relatively well-adjusted kid with at least a handful of friends; but Candy and Grenda are special to her.
Favorite relationship: Her relationship with Grunkle Stan. They’re kindred spirits in the most off-beat way: both full of energy and creativity, impulsive, soft-hearted, and somewhat dependent on those they love. In this way, they become very close and suit each other’s needs. Stan lets bubbly, up-beat Mabel be sad and vulnerable around him, and Mabel gives Stan the unabashed affection that he needs. Also when he calls her pumpkin I openly weep/
Favorite headcanon: Mabel is the best babysitter when she gets older. All the parents in the neighbourhood are fighting for her services. There is a wait list. Little do they know that Mabel can get the kids into some wild situations, but miraculously (with the help of her brother) sets everything right before the parents return. The kids have so much fun that none of them dare say anything to their parents, so the system works in her favour.
