Headcanon that Stan and Ford’s mom found out that Stan had taken Ford’s identity pretty early on.
I’m picturing there being a memorial service for Stan after he faked his death and he decides to go. He knows he’ll regret it but he can’t help it, he’s curious to see what people say about him now that he’s “dead” so he goes in a very convincing Ford disguise.
And then he bumps into his mom, who can see right through his disguise and at first she sort of freaks out, and then she quickly grabs her son’s arm and drags him somewhere where others can’t hear them and says “STANLEY PINES WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK IS GOING ON??????”
and then Stan tells her because this woman would totally ground her 30 year old son for not telling her the truth

gwin-stich:

The fact that Stans mom didnt have any say about Stanly being kicked out of the house has kind of bothered me for a while.

So here is my little alternative, where Ma Pines is being a badass protective mother, and draws the fucking line in the sand for her fucking husband.

God I hate that man so much. Cause if you think about it the entire shitstorm of Ford and Stans lives happened because of this guy.

Seriously fuck Filbrick Pines.

i LOVE this! I would have screamed with delight if this had happened in canon!

However, I do feel the need to defend Mrs. Pines (Just because I don’t want the fandom to start attacking her for not doing something like this). I
’m sure we all agree that Filbrick was completely horrible. But the thing is, he might have even worse than what we saw. It’s been a while since I watched A Tale of Two Stans, but I don’t remember seeing much interaction between the Stan twins’ parents. For all we know Mrs. Pines was terrified of her husband, for all we know if she had said something, it would have done more harm than good. If she had said something, he could have done anything from kicking her out as well, to physically abusing her. Not to mention there was also a baby in the house. Filbrick could have done a number of things to her in anger that could have rendered her unable to care for the baby. And then who’s left to take care of the baby? Filbrick.

tl;dr, if Mrs. Pines had done anything, not only would Stanley have been in a bad situation, but Mrs. Pines and the baby could have potentially been in bad situations too.
