I’ve been thinking about this post by @perfectlylogicalexplanation and I thought of something sad

When Dipper encounters this guard Mabel (or if there are several guard Mabels throughout the bubble: the first guard Mabel he encounters) he’s going to think it’s the real Mabel. He’s going to be happy and relieved to have finally found her after 3 (and at that point it could even be more) days. He’ll probably try to hug her and tell her how glad he is to see her…

…only to have her be a fake Mabel who will probably attack him to keep him away from the real Mabel.

I keep thinking about the Pines family watching Back to the Future.
Dipper being a huge fan, and then freaking out when he realizes that Ford had gone through the portal before the first one came out, so he and Mabel force him to watch all three movies
And they get to the second movie, and Ford sees all this cool stuff of 2015, and he goes “we’re supposed to have all this stuff in 3 years? Excuse me, I have A LOT of inventing to do”

I keep thinking about the Pines family watching Back to the Future.
Dipper being a huge fan, and then freaking out when he realizes that Ford had gone through the portal before the first one came out, so he and Mabel force him to watch all three movies
And they get to the second movie, and Ford sees all this cool stuff of 2015, and he goes “we’re supposed to have all this stuff in 3 years? Excuse me, I have A LOT of inventing to do”

Ok I thought of something.
When Ford told Dipper his parents would love to have him teach him because he has 12 PhDs I immediately thought “um Ford, his education probably isn’t going to be the only thing they consider. Don’t you understand that?”
But think about it, he probably doesn’t understand that because of his dad. A Tale of Two Stans made it seem like Filbrick only showed any signs of caring about Ford when he was told Ford was so smart he could potentially be a millionaire. He only cared about education because he knew if one of his kids got a good enough job, they could “be our ticket out of this dump”

How about an au where this happens, and Dipper feels so guilty about how upset Stan is, that he tells Stan what happened and why he did that. And then they regularly bond over talks about missing Ford, and start doing things together that they would have done with Ford.
