(This is my second time trying to post this, so if you all see this nearly exact same post later, it’s because tumblr is failing me)

Shout out to all those who are feeling left out of the cipher hunt because you don’t live near any of the clues or you can’t figure out the clue/ can’t figure out the clues before someone else does.

Please read Alex’s tweet above if you feel this way. He does have a point, you never know where the next clue is, but I want to focus on another point he made. By retweeting you are part of the cipher hunt. If all you guys are able to do is retweet, reblog or just post updates, please understand that you are a bigger part of the cipher hunt than you realize (and a much bigger part that you’re getting credit for)

Just by posting about the cipher hunt you are increasing the chances of a faller, who doesn’t know this is happening yet, finding out about it. And who knows, that faller could be able to solve a clue or go to another. Or maybe someone who has never seen Gravity Falls will see your post and want to start watching it (it’s always good to get more fandom members right?)

Every time you reblog or retweet a new clue, you increase the chances of someone seeing that clue who could solve it. You may not be able to solve it, or solve it fast enough, but maybe one of your followers will understand it immediately. Or maybe one of your followers will reblog or retweet it, and one of their followers will understand the clue.

Every time you post an update about where the next clue is said to be, you increase the chances of someone who is near the clue finding out about the location and being able to go there. Like I said above, you might be too far to go there, but maybe one of your followers is really close, or maybe one of your followers will reblog or retweet and one of their followers will be close enough to go. 

Just by posting encouraging words to those who are deciphering clues, or going to the clues (like May) you are helping tons. I’m not sure if May is able to see how many people are showing their support for her online right now (I have no access to the stream) But if she can, you’re helping her so much, and even if she can’t, eventually she will see all our encouraging posts, and it will make her feel great.

You guys who are simply posting about the cipher hunt are more important to the hunt than you realize. The reason this is so incredible is because it requires the teamwork of people from all over the world and the constant sharing of information online to make it possible. This whole thing would take significantly longer without everyone posting about it. If no one, or even just a few people were posting, the information and updates wouldn’t spread as fast and we wouldn’t be anywhere near as far along with this as we are.

I know some of you guys who can only post about the cipher hunt feel left out, but please please please understand how important you are to this. You guys may not be getting all the glory, or have the most exciting part of this hunt, but for the reasons I stated above, you guys are the most important part of the hunt.

So I’d like to thank you all for posting. I know it stinks to not be able to do more, but you guys are doing great and deserve a shout out! ❤
