Things I wonder about apparently:

how old Huggy/Bob is.

Things I wonder about apparently:

how old Huggy/Bob is.

A WG question I have is: what exactly did huggy leave behind in order to take care of Becky? We know he was a pilot, and we know he has a brother who he misses very much, and that’s about it. Did he even know Becky’s family before she sneaked onto his spaceship? Or was it a random baby he’d never seen before? Oh also, Becky telling her origin story in “WG makes a mistake,” did huggy tell her what happened or does she remember somehow? Are there any more ways lexiconians differ from humans? Idk.

This will probably be long so brace yourself
I’m finding myself wondering more and more about what Huggy’s life was before Earth. I have tried to analyze other things we know about him in hopes of piecing together some new information, but I haven’t had much luck. There’s part of me that thinks we don’t know much about his old life because Becky doesn’t know much about it. Bob has probably told her some things, but I’d imagine that he doesn’t tell her much because she’s the reason he doesn’t have that old life anymore. Maybe he’s afraid if he tells her about the good parts of his life on Lexicon, she’ll feel guilty for inadvertently taking him away from all that.

In regards to whether or not he knew Becky and her biological family before the crash, when I write I always assume she was just some random kid who snuck onboard, but as far as theories go, I believe he actually did know her and her family, or at least knew of them. My reasoning comes from part four of The Rise of Miss Power. There’s a statue in the ship that honestly just looks like an adult version of Becky. And we know she is significant in some way to Becky because of the amount of emphasis that was put on this statue. Combine this with the fact that Wordgirl’s major motivation in this scene was to get her mom out of jail (so the audience has mothers on the brain), from a writing perspective, I think they were really trying to let us know that this woman was Becky’s mom. How does this relate to Bob knowing her? Well, why would there be a statue of her if she wasn’t important? Not to mention a picture of this woman can be seen in the book Wordgirl reads in the same scene. Depending on why she was important, Huggy could have met her, and maybe her daughter prior to crashing into Earth, even if he didn’t necessarily know them very well. If nothing else, he probably knew who they were. He maybe didn’t even recognize Becky (depending on how much her mother allowed her to be in the spotlight with her) and potentially doesn’t know who her mother was, even if he actually knows her mother if that makes sense.

As far as Becky remembering her origin story, I firmly believe that Huggy told her and that she doesn’t remember a thing. She was very little, she clearly couldn’t even walk yet, so I doubt she could remember the details of this event. That and there were some things she said that, to me, sound like things Huggy would have told her as opposed to her remembering. Like when she said she “startled” him. That implies his reaction was somewhat mild, maybe a little jump, but he clearly freaked out and leaped out of his chair. This sounds more like something he said to her to sound a little braver. Also when she calls him the greatest pilot, that’s either something he said to her, bragging about his abilities, or it’s her bragging about him, like how children will go “My daddy’s a singer, he’s the best singer in the whole world!!” That being said, even if she doesn’t remember details, I’d be shocked if she didn’t have some vague subconscious memories of the ship crashing. I mean that’s gotta be pretty traumatic, especially for a young child.
While on this topic, I would also like to suggest the idea that if Huggy told her this origin story, we technically don’t know how much of it is real. I had a friend who doesn’t watch this show, but knows I love it, ask me “Why was she sent to Earth?” and that got me thinking, what if she was sent to Earth? For all we know she was sent to Earth intentionally and the story Huggy told her is complete crap, just a story he made up so she wouldn’t ask questions. Probably not, but it’s kinda fun to think about.

It would be very interesting to know how much different lexiconians are to humans. There may be some things we can guess on, using Becky as a reference. She has been in space various times without an oxygen helmet, so I have a headcanon that lexiconians’ lungs are significantly larger than humans’ so that they can keep in air longer. Becky being able to be in space without an oxygen mask also implies that Lexicon has less air to breathe on it than Earth, otherwise, there’s no way Lexiconians would have evolved in a way that would allow them to be in space. I think anyway. This is far from my area of expertise, so if anyone else has any thought on this or can correct mine, please do. 🙂

So instead of not enjoying myself at my family’s New Years party, I decided to watch the New Years WordGirl Episode

And I have some thoughts I would like to share…

(Good thoughts, let me clarify)

image

First off, these poor boys, they just want to have a party and to do so they had to gather the few party supplies from other holidays they had. I see Christmas lights, a 4th of July hat, a St. Patrick’s Day hat, a Halloween noise maker thing, can’t remember the name of it. ….. and WordGirl and Captain HuggyFace tablecloth?? Why do they have that?? And when Two Brains comes in he doesn’t even acknowledge it so does that mean they just have that?

image

He may have a mouse brain, but he has the mouth of a chipmunk…

image

…and octopus fingers

More under the cut…

image

“TJ the DJ” okay, yes, I like it, I like it a lot, but have you considered “DJ TJ”?
Also, I like to brainstorm what the kiddos in this show would do for a living when they are adults, I’ve had trouble thinking of one for TJ, but maybe a DJ!

image

Becky is the cutest little dancer. Haha, this would be a good “someone who has never seen WordGirl, please explain this image”
Also regarding Bob…

image

Is…is he stoned?? What is in that guacamole??

image

That look of sheer terror XD

image

Becky did that. And all I wanna ask her is did she think she was in a battle or something? She did that with a pinata! Also, the family just shrugs it off, and I don’t mean in a “how did Becky do that?” kinda way, but in an “oh, crap! there’s a hole in the wall!!” they basically just go, “Well I guess we have a hole in the wall now! Next game!”

image

Is that a WordGirl cup Bob has? It’s kinda hard to tell in this picture, and it’s not surprising in  this family but I think that’s a cute little detail

image

Real talk though, where does one store a guacamole bowl that large?

image

They are so cute!

image

I just…can’t get over Bob

image
image

Mrs. Botsford may have had a few drinks

image

So, you’re gonna contact Lexicon?

image

Bob, I assure you, you have already accomplished that resolution

image

I wanted this shot so I could comment on the quote, and I ended up laughing at her eyes for a minute straight.
Regarding the qutoe, Becky, I don’t think you have a lot of control of how much you have to be running around when you’re a super hero…actually if she really wanted to she could probably significantly cut down on the witty banter in battles…

image

Such a cute family.

image

Awww! We need more moments like this!!

image

Who’s idea was it to put The Energy Monster in the ball, because that’s a really good idea

image

AW! And who’s idea was it to have a villain New Year’s Eve party? Because that’s adorable!

image

oh, apparently it wasn’t his idea…or rather he had the same idea…

image

Again, they’re just so cute!

image

Everyone is just so damn cute!!!!!

image

“Hey, you know what we should do, we should put a picture of Dr. Two Brains, from when he was Steven, and have him standing next to some random, unnamed lady!”
“Are you crazy! That will drive the fans crazy! Let’s do it!”

image

Maybe Two Brains is the one who’s stoned…

image

See! Even The Narrator thinks you’ve already achieved your resolution Bob!

image
image

Poor Huggy…

image
image

This is one of those, “I don’t know why it’s funny but it’s sssooooo funny” kind of things. I love how he just casually looks up with a face like “what am I doing with my life?”

image
image

I love how he waits for Huggy to get himself together, he doesn’t even give it a second thought. He may be a criminal but he knows he’s gotta play fair

image

When you tell your mom you’re doing your homework but you’re actually in your room like

image

Ignore the quote, I just forgot to turn that off. I need to rant about this real quick. So I understand why Tim is there this early, I understand why Sally tagged along, but no explanation was given as to why TJ came too. I mean I think he’s too young to be left home alone, but what about Becky? Hadn’t she already had a day where she technically babysat TJ? I’m pretty sure that was before this episode, correct me if I’m wrong, please. And yeah, I know Becky isn’t there, but they shouldn’t know that. So there was no reason for them to take TJ if they thought Becky was home. So let’s say he wanted to come for one reason or another, okay, now the whole family is going and leaving Becky and Bob behind and this family doesn’t do things like that. One of them would have asked Becky if she wanted to come, or told her where they were going so she didn’t wake up and go “where is everyone?” Or at the very least, wouldn’t they have maybe gone into her room to check on her before leaving her alone in the house asleep? This just doesn’t make sense to me and I like to believe that one of the other Botsfords knows Becky and Bob are WordGirl and Huggy and are covering for her from the rest of the family. “We should go ask Becky if she wants to come!” “I’ll do it!” “No she doesn’t want to come” “Are you sure? Let me ask her–” “NO! Really she said she’s tired and doesn’t want to come!!!!”

image

I kid you not this is something I actually say in real life

image

Another good “someone who’s never seen WordGirl, please explain this” and the quote in there somehow makes it better

image
image

What in the name of cheese is she doing?

Hope you enjoyed my silliness and my brief moment of Botsford family conspiracy theorizing!

Edit: I finally got this posted! I think the difference was that I did it through my laptop this time instead of my phone (I swear I already tried that, but my computer wouldn’t connect to the internet)
