Another Wordgirl crack theory/ headcanon

There’s one episode where Mrs. Botsford talks about a tradition in her own family and calls it a “Botsford” tradition. (In “Say it again Eileen” when she’s sharing a recipe with Becky) so my headcanon is that Mrs. Botsford’s maiden name is also Botsford, just maybe with a spelling discrepancy like two Ts or something like that. Based on something that actually happened in my family, where the bride’s last name was something like Andersen and the groom’s last name was Anderson.

This is just a crack theory that’s not meant to be taken too seriously, it’s just for fun:

What if Huggy isn’t speaking monkey, and instead is actually speaking the Lexicon native language. Wordgirl understands what he’s saying not because she speaks monkey, but because she speaks the language from her home planet. It just happens to sound like monkey talk on Earth.

It’s always been my headcanon that Huggy’s understanding of English is rough, but he understands the Lexicon language very well, and that’s why he needs so many English words defined for him. Who knows? Maybe Becky got her start as WordGirl defining things for him, and fell in love with doing so ❤

Oo I like this! I kinda feel bad that that thought never crossed my mind, I can’t tell you how many times I thought “Bob how do you not know what ‘realize’ means?” but this would explain that perfectly.
