DAMN DOT WHERE’S YOUR CHILL

Taking this totally too seriously, i realize, but if you think about it, assuming that they’re actors on a tv show (since they routinely whip out scripts and complain about the writing and such), since the show always framed Yakko as the smart one and also gave him almost all the solo songs, and Wakko was always framed as the funny one and given almost all the solo skits and Dot was never framed as anything other than the cute one and wasn’t ever really given too much to do, (other than talk/sing about how cute she is,) it would be really easy for Dot to get it into her head that being cute was all she had to offer and the only reason people like her at all which would perfectly set up her being really possessive of the trait and super threatened by anyone else being adorable in her presence.

Yes yes yes this is such a good point. I honestly get concerned about Dot because her cuteness seems to be the only thing she values about herself. This is bad enough now but it’s really going to screw her up when she’s older

Oh i’ve always been concerned about it, she’s a young girl in hollywood and we all know what hollywood does to young girls. If she were a real person she would be one unflattering paparazzi photo away from an eating disorder.

This is terrible to say, but I honestly think she would have an eating disorder when she’s older for these very reasons

(Also id like to formally apologize to the OP for hijacking this post with serious stuff :/)

Oh yeah, 100% she absolutely would. Probably younger than you’d think too, i read something somewhere that says girls as young as 8 worry about their weight nowadays. and if it happened everyone, probably including her brothers, would think she was just being vain for vanity’s sake and get exasperated with her, but it could be so much deeper than that.

If she believed that her only job was being cute, then if she stopped being cute theoretically she could lose her job. But they are the Warner trio, if you lose one there is no point in keeping the others so maybe they’d get fired too. And if they are no longer studio employees they might not be allowed to live there anymore and then her whole family would be homeless because she couldn’t do her one job of ‘not being hideous on camera’.

Also maybe the whole show would be cancelled. She’s shown an awareness of how many people work on their show (in that end credit sequence where they were complaining and Wakko was all ‘who are all these names?” and Dot was all disgusted that he didn’t know “They’re artists Wakko maybe you could come by the studio sometime and meet a few of them”) they could lose their jobs too and then that would be hundreds of people whose lives would be ruined because she couldn’t do her literal one job of ‘stand there, be pretty’

On top of all this, she has no girls in her life. I mean sure Slappy and Hello Nurse are in her life and are great roll models, but she is NEVER with just them. She gets no girl time because 99% of the time she is with her brothers.

Having girl time and spending a lot of time with a good female role model could potentially completely change this future for her, and she doesn’t even seem to have that benefit

and on top of that look at the way they introduce themselves “We’re the Warner brothers” “…and the Warner sister” it’s like she’s an afterthought that has to remind people that she’s even there. Even Scratchy just refers to them as the Warner brothers. The boys introduce themselves together as a unit and then Dot comes after by herself.

I don’t mind so much her adding in “and the Warner sister” when they introduce themselves, just because it emphasizes her and gives her extra attention and I’m sure she likes that, however its definitely something that should be taken into consideration.

What I do mind is that when ANYONE else refers to them (like you said, including Scratchy) they call them the Warner brothers. Characters who have known the kids for while (and it only takes meeting them once to know one is girl) still refer to them as the Warner brothers and that drives me nuts because they damn well know Dot is a girl.

Its also sad to hear them introduce themselves by their names because half the time it goes like this: “I’m Yakko!” “I’m Wakko!” “And I’m cute!”
