okay but for real one of my favorite scenes in the ending credits is when Mabel hands Stan her grappling hook and Stan’s immediate response is to grab Ford and shoot up into the trees

it’s especially funny because Ford doesn’t even seem to weigh anything to Stan. he just immediately picks Ford up and WELP they’re gone

i just imagine Ford screaming “STANLEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! WEREN’T YOU AFRAID OF HEIGHTS?!” as he desperately clings to Stan

while Stan is all “NOT ANYMORE, SUCKER!! HAHAHA!!”

meanwhile Dipper and Mabel just stare at their two crazy great uncles

*squints* “Eh, what’s that, a possum?” *CRASH* *possum falls down*

OKAY BUT NO I have to talk about this.

That little sequence is my favorite moment between them, even more than any of the hugs, the part on the boat, threatening the bus driver etc…not because it’s cute (which it is,) not because it’s funny (which it is,) but because of what it says about how Stan relates to Ford now.

Because Stan is so confident. Ford is obviously in the middle of a conversation with Dipper. You see Stan get the idea, smile at Ford, then he just grabs him. Gives him no warning, just wraps his arm around him and UP they go.

That is not the way you behave with someone you’re anxious around. That is not the way you behave around someone

if you’re afraid of them hating or rejecting or getting angry at you. That is the way you behave around someone if and only if you are 100% confident with them, and confident of their love for you.

Stan shows that he’s over both his fear of heights and his fear of familial rejection in one smooth motion.

Bless this day ❤️❤️❤️

I swear this post is blessed or something because I said “I want a reason to go somewhere” while looking at this post and then pretty much just after, my mother asked me to go to the store to get some eggs since I used the last 2

two essential skills for artists

“good enough” and “fuck it”

“good enough” is when you are working on something and are happy with most of it but can live with a few imperfections, useful when needing to move on from sketch to inking/coloring or what have you.

“fuck it” is when you absolutely hate what you’re doing every step of the way but you post it anyways, very useful during art blocks.

both are useful to help you move on and not obsess over making it perfect, because art is anything but perfect, even photo realistic artists probably see imperfections that someone else might not catch

these can also be applied to other things in life

Survivors of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting announce the ‘March For Our Lives’ on March 24 in support of gun control

‘‘… Not one more. We cannot allow one more child to be shot at school. We cannot allow one more teacher to make a choice to jump in front of a firing assault rifle to save the lives of students. We cannot allow one more family to wait for a call or text that never comes. Our schools are unsafe. Our children and teachers are dying. We must make it our top priority to save these lives…’’
