I would just like to share that I may have recruited another Wordgirl fan.

I keep ranting to my coworker about Wordgirl and showing funny clips I love and yesterday she said “I’m really starting to enjoy this. Is it on Netflix?”

Tbh I didn’t expect so many people to like that theory about tj knowing Becky is Wordgirl. I thought that would have like three likes and that’d be it.

I’m sorry I just am bubbling with wordgirl headcanons its been years since ive found someone who cared about it and its getting me super super excited

Don’t apologize! I love it! And so do others! Wordgirl has a fandom, at least here on tumblr,I do struggle to find other sites that discuss it as much as we do here. Its a small fandom, I feel like its a “everyone knows everyone” type of fandom, but still going strong!

And I just wanna say it’s impressive how strong the Wordgirl fandom is still going. Like this wasn’t ever a crazy popular show, and it ended what? Four years ago or something? I love how dedicated this fandom is!

i headcanon dr boxleitner had a reasonable suspicion who wordgirl really was (based off how much he studied her and spent time with her and possibly saw her grow up) but when he got fused with squeaky he simultaneously got too pure evil to care and some level of steve was able to keep things from squeaky and just didn’t spend much time with citizens like harmless lil ol’ becky to really have that come up again

That’s a really interesting idea! I would have loved an episode based on this. Like it starts to come back to him and squeaky is trying to pry it out of Stevens memory.

I know they said they wanted to write more about the struggle between having the two brains with conflicting moral stances fighting for control, but thought it was too intense for kids, but perhaps if they had gone in that direction they would have considered doing an episode like this. I think it would have been great for that!

i headcanon that lexiconians who have spent too much time away from their planet lexicon lose their immunity to the harsh planet conditions (eg. wordgirl being very ill next to lexinite) and thats why huggy has made no effort to return and ms power and rhyme are two lexiconians and rex hexigonian with no hope of going home trying to make it work as vagabonds or earth immigrants

This would make complete scientific sense! This actually happens in real life!

I have a severe peanut allergy, and went through a process called desensitization where they feed you EXTREMELY small amounts of peanuts, and then slowly raise the dose until you can have a full peanut. Its so that if I were to accidently eat a peanut it wouldn’t threaten my life (but I’m still allergic so I can’t eat a lot of peanuts or anything) Now I have to take a little dosage of peanut butter everyday, or else I will lose my limited immunity to it. So yeah, this certainly happens in really life! And it would explain why they have made no attempts to return, which I’ve often wondered.

I wonder how long they have to be away before that kicks in

Interesting! I can certainly see it. I’ve often wondered how Becky found out. Did her parents tell her? I’ve started thinking maybe Bob told her as she realized she had powers. For all we know she remembered and already knew that (I doubt it though)

Anyway I would certainly find it off putting if my child casually talked about being adopted if I hadn’t actually said anything to them yet.
