I’m not asking you to bandwagon with me, but I’m boycotting the Animaniacs reboot

It’s just to personal to me. I’ve been following the Animaniacs writers for so long, seeing them hurt, hurts for me.

Hiring a Family Guy writer to be in charge of the show? Too far for me. No thank you.

If they’re not going to invite the creators of the characters who put so much of their lives and their selves into it, then I’m not going to bother to watch.

I love the voice actors and I don’t blame them for jumping at the chance to voice these characters again. I just don’t want to see Yakko, hear Yakko, and have him out of character… doing and saying things that are not Yakko. Slappy probably won’t even be Sherri Stoner because she was too important to the writing crew and they’re probably going to shy away from facing her in the voice booth.

I won’t quote him or post a screen shot, but I did talk to one of the show creators today on FB and he was… I’ll say in disbelief? At the choice Hulu made for the show runner. I guess I am too.

Ultimately if the petition only got 3.5k sigs, then I doubt a call to boycott will get much further than that as well anyway. It’s going to come down to, is the show watchable? Even if it’s out of character, is it funny enough that casual nostalgic fans will keep clicking for the next episode? Is it interesting enough for kids that they will want to see it? As long as there are enough people doing that, it will be hailed “successful” even if it’s not popular like the original. And that also makes me sad. I don’t want Animaniacs to be sub par…

Does anyone know or have a theory on why Yakko appears to have a line graph taped to the foot of his bed? I’ve always wondered this, this is in several different episodes, the ones pictured are the Earthquake song and the “I’m Mad” song. I’ve never been able to figure out why it’s there

Probably to keep track of the number of times the Warners have attempted to escape the water tower.

That, or the number of times his sibs annoy him 😂
