When, how and why did Ford took the Memory Gun ?

It was Soos who had it when coming to the rescue in the Fearamide.

(I think Dipper’s probably the one who decided to bring it with them, remembering the events of the Last Mabelcorn. Precious baby doesn’t believe in himself and saves Ford hoping he’ll have a plan against Bill, when he already had one)

So… There’s probably a scene we haven’t seen where Soos give it to him.

… Why ? Did Soos just walk to him “Hey dude, here ya go ! Just in case you want to erase your brother’s memory to save the world ! (Hey do you think I could get a raise out of it ?)”  Did Ford just scream “DOES ANYBODY HAVE A WEAPON HERE, I FEEL NAKED WITHOUT ONE” ? Did Fiddleford see it or played a part ?
